Remote Desktop Port Changer

For everyone out there who wants to use his computer from a holiday location, work or anywhere else there is ‘Remote Desktop’. This is a simple build in feature in Windows and does what it says, remotely connects to your desktop.

The program is great when used to connect one computer at home, the problems start when you want to connect to multiple computers.

If you have multiple computers you probably have a router that routes the connections. This is the problem, Remote Desktop uses port 3389 by deafult. Time to change it! U can use the Windows Registry but there is a faster and safer way, an app called VelocIT Terminal Services Port Changer. This way you can connecting via Remote Desktop to the non-standard Port.

Winamp CS3 Style Icon

Yet another dock icon for Winamp. I liked the old orange Winamp icon so that became the basic color for this icon. I also included a clean 16×16 version for tray usage.

Many people may wonder how they can change the Winamp tray icon, the only way is making a choice between the old icons in the Winamp preference panel. Read on if you want to know how to change it anyway! Grab the icon!

So we have to replace an icon in the Winamp preference panel to be able to choose from it. There are 13 icons in total so it won’t be to hard to choose one you dislike. Before you begin, if you are not sure what to do ask or don’t do it! You can corrupt Winamp, no biggy if you reinstall it but still, be careful!

First you need an resource editor, I used ResHacker.
Close Winamp
Open the executable editor.
Locate & Open ‘winamp.exe’, depends on the location you choose to install Winamp

Then browse to the tray icon you want to replace ‘Tree’ > ‘Icon Group’ > ‘262′
Right-click on ‘1033′ > ‘Replace resource…’

Click ‘Open file with new icon’ browse to the icon and click ‘Replace’.
Click ‘File’ > ‘Save’. A backup file is made at that location just in case.
And finally choose your icon in the Winamp preference panel.

All done! And of course this works with any icon.

LeafLight Theme

After switching betweens serveral themes I found a decent one made by Sadish Bala. He based his theme on the original Light theme made by Stephen Reinhardt. I made some changes and finished it yesterday, it is calles LeafLight.

I hope you will enjoy this new theme!

CS3 Style Icons

My hugely anticipated vacation has just began and I am already back on my PC. I should spent my time outside, Holland is beautiful at the moment. Still I noticed the few apps in my tray area we’re all totally different and some real ugly. Inspired by the simple but smooth icons by Adobe I made an small set of (dock) icons.

Currently an icon for Daemon Tools, Kaspersky, uTorrent and Sony Ericsson.

New Theme: Earl Grey [Postponed]

It has been a while since my last update. The last few months we’re very busy. I’ working on several projects and soon some of them should reach their final stage. I will keep you guys posted.

You might noticed the site layout has changed. The previous theme was kinda boring so I decided to build a new one, Earl Grey. The theme is based on the default Wordpress theme Kubrick. I also used the sweet silk icons from FAMFAMFAM.

Motorola RAZR Gentle Theme

I was getting a Motorola Razr V3 the other day for my mother. Something really scared me, the cell’s design was nice but the GUI was really ugly as hell, the whole UI wasn’t that good either. But I decide my mom deserved something decent. So I made my first RAZR theme!

It is smooth, simple and nice, a gentle one! Razr Gentle! Check my DeviantArt.

I shot these three years ago, back in 2004. There quite okay for a starter and 2.0 mega-pixel camera. The first one is taken from the left side of a little road in Rimini. The second is taken from the right side of that road at the exact same place.
